How to get the updated version of the files english.lang and default.lang

In order to get a really “fresh” english.lang, i.e. the latest version of the file english.lang, please do like this:

• First of all: Update your program Scrabble3D by clicking on the button "check now" in Configuration > Settings > Options.

• Then start again your program Scrabble3D.
• Open Configuration > Settings > Options
• On the left side of that tab, click on the button with the three small points (besides config directory).
• Now you have opened the folder (i.e. config directory) where you have all your *.dic and *.lang files (i.e. dictionaries and language files).
• Exit the program Scrabble3D.
• Now look for the file english.lang in your config directory.
Delete that file english.lang (throw it into the waste paper basket).
• Now you will not have any file english.lang there any more. This is correct.
• Then start your program Scrabble3D again.
• After that you will see that you have got a file english.lang again in your config directory.
• This file is the new one: It is the fresh, updated version of english.lang.

You should always use a fresh, updated version of english.lang as source text, when you will translate Scrabble3D into some more language in order to create a new localization...

When translating that file, please take always into consideration what Scotty, the author of our Scrabble3D, has written and what he will write in the Announcements
section in our forum --> English --> Translators.

Thank you!
Please don’t hesitate to ask questions, whenever you have any doubts about how to do when you are working on your translation.
We will be pleased to give you any support you need!

Best regards,
Bussinchen

How to get the updated version of the file default.lang

default.lang is written in English, but it is the English language of Scotty's source code. It is in po format.

From Patch 29 the file english.lang is a translation of the original file default.lang and might be different from english.lang. default.lang is created automatically by the program and updated (= overwritten) at each start of the program. That means that you need not to do anything in order to be sure to have got the latest version of default.lang. You will always have the latest version, if you start the program Scrabble3D.

default.lang is saved in the config directory. If you want to open the config directory, do like this:

• Start the latest version of the program Scrabble3D.
• Open Configuration > Settings > Options
• On the left side of that tab, click on the button with the three small points (besides config directory).

Often the language in the source code is rather short and does not explain so well the functions of the program, for example in tooltips. That's why the translated files (= localizations) might be helpful for translators to understand better the functions of the program that are to be translated. When you are translating the program to new languages, it might be a good idea to compare different language files with default.lang.
