On the website of the Romanian Scrabble Federation Federaţia Română de Scrabble --> http://www.scrabblero.ro/ we read:
Anul acesta, intră în vigoare o nouă versiune a Listei Oficiale de Cuvinte (LOC 5) după care se dispută competiţiile în limba română organizate de Federaţia Română de Scrabble. Această nouă versiune este completată cu cuvintele din Dicţionarul Limbii Române Moderne (DLRM)
This year a new version of the official list of words (LOC 5) enters into force, and will be used in Romanian competitions organized by the Romanian Scrabble Federation. This new version has been completed by words of the Modern Romanian Language Dictionary (DLRM)
On that site I have found a button LOC 5. When clicking on it, I got this web page:
Here is the official list of the valid two letters words:
AA, AB, AC, AD, AH, AI, AL, AM, AN, AR, AS, AT, AU, AX, AZ, BA, BI, BU, CA, CE, CI, CO, CU, DA, DE, DI, DO, DU, EA, EC, EE, EH, EI, EL, EN, ET, EU, EV, EX, FA, FI, FU, GA, GB, HA, HE, HALLO, HM, HO, HU, IA, IC, IE, II, IL, MI, IN, IO, IR, IS, IT, IE, IZ, LA, LE, LI, MA, MI, MU, NA, NE, NI, NO, NO, OA OF, OH, OI, OL, OM, ON, OP, OR, OS, OT, OU, PA, PE, PI, PU, RA, RE, RO, SA, SE, SI, SO, SS, ST, SU, TA, TE, TI, TT, TU, UD, UF, UI, UN, US, UT, UU, UZ, VA, VI, VU, XU, ZA, ZI
-----------------
And here is the official list of the 2 and 3 letters words:
You find the right list of words for romanian language. Impessive. There are no need to integrate other words, LOC5 is perfect as it is. It will be very hard to integrate definitions in dictionary because is very large. But is not impossible, perhaps in future.
Based in what you work, this is what i propose for header: [Header] Version=100001 Author=Matei Gall StandardCategory=Lista Oficiala de Cuvinte (LOC 5) Licence=GNU General Public License, any commercial use is prohibited. Release=07/09/2011 Comment=LOC 5, Lista Oficiala de Cuvinte, admise în competitiile de scrabble desfasurate sub egida F.R. Scrabble [Words] AA AAA AALENIAN AALENIANA AALENIANUL AALENIANULUI AALENIENE ...
LOC5 is result of Matei Gall work,(http://scrabrom.3x.ro is his site). I asked him yesterday for permission to use his list in Scrabble3D dictionary and he agree with condition too be non-commercial usage. Go Bussinchen. Release the dictionary. I will announce you when LOC6 will be released.
Great! But take care with licence for third-person data. Licence should match Matei Gall's conditions. Actually, GPL makes no difference between commercial and non-commercial use. The part "any commercial use is prohibited" was introduced by myself and has no legal relevance. Perhaps Creative Commons (CC-NC3) suits better with word lists.
OK, that's great! Thank you so much, dear playez!!! If you had not joined us, I never had made any research for Romanian language just now, because just now so many other languages are being implemented: Scottish-Gaelic, Irish, Catalan - and now Romanian, too, while we in parallel are working on a latin.dic.
But since the Romanian LOC 5 is public and can be downloaded for free by everybody, it makes the implementation of the Romanian language very very easy. Perfect!
Now I suggest the following header for our new romana.dic:
[Header] Version=100001 Author=Matei Gall StandardCategory=Lista Oficiala de Cuvinte (LOC 5) Licence=Creative Commons CC-NC3, any commercial use is prohibited. Release=08/09/2011 Comment=LOC 5, Lista Oficiala de Cuvinte, admise în competitiile de scrabble desfasurate sub egida de Federaţia Română de Scrabble [Words] AA AAA AALENIAN AALENIANA AALENIANUL AALENIANULUI AALENIENE AALENIENEI AALENIENELE AALENIENELOR ... ...
@playez:
Dear playez, is that correct: sub egida de Federaţia Română de Scrabble or do we need any genitive of the words Federaţia Română? As I read nouă versiune a Listei Oficiale, maybe the correct form could be something like sub egida Federaţiei Românei de Scrabble Alas, I don't know even one word in Romanian, but I know several Latin languages and Latin. That's why I am prudent... ;-)
@Scotty:
As soon as playez will have answered to my question, I'll sent our new file romana.dic with the correct header to you so that you can publish it on Sourceforge.net.
"Comment=LOC 5, Lista Oficială de Cuvinte admise în competiţiile de scrabble desfăşurate sub egida Federaţiei Române de Scrabble" that's correct. I agree withe the licence text.
[Header] Version=100001 Author=Matei Gall StandardCategory=Lista Oficială de Cuvinte (LOC 5) Licence=Creative Commons CC-NC3, any commercial use is prohibited. Release=08/09/2011 Comment=LOC 5, Lista Oficială de Cuvinte, admise în competiţiile de Scrabble desfăşurate sub egida de Federaţiei Române de Scrabble [Words] ... ...
I have saved the dic in UTF-8.
Please confirm once more, dear playez, and then Scotty may put our brand new romana.dic on Sourceforge.net!
[Header] Version=100001 Author=Matei Gall StandardCategory=Lista Oficială de Cuvinte (LOC 5) Licence=Creative Commons CC-NC3, any commercial use is prohibited. -there is no need for "," between "Cuvinte" and "adminse" -deleted "de" after "egida"
Zitat von Scotty on DictionaryRomanian is available for download. File consists of 610767 words from LOC 5 (Lista Oficială de Cuvinte admise în competiţiile de Scrabble desfăşurate sub egida Federaţiei Române de Scrabble).
The wrong file name romanian.dic has been converted to the correct file name romana.dic.
If you already have downloaded romanian.dic and now want to download romana.dic or update the the former file romanian.dic, you will get problems.
To avoid this problem, please do like this:
Open the program Scrabble3D. Click on the menu Configuration. Open the Setting dialogue. Go to the tab Options. On the left hand you have a button with three points, click on it. Now you have opened the Config Directory, where you have all the files used by the program Scrabble3D.exe.
Close the program Scrabble3D. Go to the Config Directory again, and open the file Scrabble3D.ini. According to your OS settings, maybe you will not see the file extension *.ini. In that case take the file called Scrabble3D (without ini-extension). Open that file.
In the file Scrabble3D.ini, you'll find the following text:
romanian.dic=100001
Delete that line. Save the file. Close the file Scrabble3D.ini.
Open the program Scrabble3D again. Click on the menu Configuration. Open the Setting dialogue. Go to the tab Dictionary. Open the pulldown menu for the dictionaries. Now you'll see the entrance romana.dic in italics. Click on it. We promise that the download of the Romanian dictionary will work fine now!
